classic Nintendo game question?
I've been playing my NES a lot more lately and I started getting into Metroid again. I remember back in the '80s, when large numbers of fans to win the game, they found the main character was actually a woman. I mean from the time of the initial game until the control of an astronaut and have no idea that a woman in the space suit to end the game. My question is, is Samus Aran, the protagonist, is her first woman to be the star of a video game? Do not forget Metroid was released in 1986, and most NES games that year or before were all "save the princess" or "save the galaxy" the kind of games and had always controlled man. Therefore, it is Samus Aran, the first woman to take the lead role in a video game? Thanks for any help!
Does it refer only to the NES? Technically, "Ms. Pac-Man", is a main character who was a woman and was released in the early '80s.
